“The desire to express something universal and elemental is the force behind all of my painting. Stripped of expectations, rules and standards I am interested in exploring what’s beneath the surface, focusing on the essence of the human experience, the things that unite us all. I try to be intuitive and spontaneous in hopes to encounter a simplicity of spirit and intention where anything is possible and everything is new and fascinating. I am in deep love with color, when I experiment with mixing different hues and discover a new combination that is the moment when I have tapped into that childlike sense of curiosity. It is this playful energy and vitality that I want to transfer onto my paintings, a vibration that I hope taps into each of my viewers and brings them more alive and in tune with their own sense of joy and wonder.” Amelia Opalinska, 2024
