Marielena: 38 Years of Artistic Evolution

Galería Mérida, in collaboration with El Zapote Galería, presents a retrospective exhibition celebrating 38 years of artistic trajectory by Marielena Jorge M. This three-day Pop-Up event highlights the exploratory and experimental process that defines the artist’s work, offering a journey through the most representative moments of her evolution.

From her figurative beginnings, where paper and materials offered a wide spectrum of color and texture, to her more recent ventures into abstraction and surrealism, the exhibition showcases the artist’s versatility and depth. Each stage of her career reveals a unique style, marked by constant experimentation with techniques and color palettes.

Recently, Marielena has continued to explore abstract art, working with painting on canvas. In these pieces, her loose brushwork and use of mixed techniques reflect an artistic maturity that synthesizes her passion and commitment.

This exhibition pays tribute to the artist’s dedication, as she has consistently pushed the boundaries of her practice and continues to seek new forms of artistic expression.
